Lisa Sun
Special Education Program Coordinator
Some people continue to grow because they possess a kind of persistence. I am Lisa Sun, a graduate of East China Normal University in Shanghai, with a degree in early childhood education and education management.I have hosted and participated in multiple autism charity events. I have been working in education in Shanghai for over 20 years, including special education. I focus on designing and implementing creative and inspiring educational activities to promote the comprehensive development of young children. At the same time, I am responsible for managing daily affairs in the classroom, communicating with parents, and providing support for family education.
As a grade leader and assistant to the school principal, I am dedicated to nurturing and guiding the members of the teaching team, ensuring the quality of education and the smooth operation of the school. I once led the children to participate in the first McDonald's Children's Performance Competition in Shanghai and achieved second place. After moving to the United States in 2012, I became a stay-at-home mom and actively participated in Chinese storytime at the community library and volunteered at Saddleback Church's children's ministry.
Even though I am a stay-at-home mom, I have a deep love for the beauty in life. I am skilled in designing and weaving various shapes with balloons to spread the aesthetic sense of life. I am fortunate to be connected with Cogleap, the California Optimal Brain Center, and I am very grateful to the company for giving me the opportunity to return to the children.
The love of children is pure. When I hear them say, "Teacher, I love you" or "Teacher, I miss you," when their small figures hug me and share secrets with me, I feel that this is the happiest profession in the world. The trust and reliance of the children make me find my identity in this role, and while satisfying their needs, I also feel a sense of accomplishment.
There must be reasons behind continuous growth, and the effort and accumulation behind it far exceed that of ordinary people. May our efforts make all children more confident and every family happier.
